Ijoid languages
There are at least 5 Ijoid languages or dialect clusters (cfr Williamson & Timitimi 1983, Jenewari 1989, Williamson & Blench 2000):
- Inland Ijo, incl. Biseni, Okodja, Oruma
- Izon
- East Ijo cluster, incl. Kalabari, Okrika, Ibani, and possibly also Nkoroo
- Brass Ijo, incl. Nembe and Akassa
- Defaka
