The distribution of Adamawa languages
[ Niger-Congo » Adamawa ]

Adamawa languages

There are some 40-60 Adamawa languages, most of which are very poorly documented. For present purposes, they can be divided into subgroups as follows (cfr Monino 1988, Boyd 1989, Williamson & Blench 2000):

  • Duru languages
  • Leko-Nimbari languages
  • Mumuye-Nimbari languages
  • Mbum languages
  • Waja-Longuda languages
  • Jen-Bikwin languages
  • Yungur languages
  • Day-Kim-Bua languages
  • remnant Adamawa languages
