On the meaning of our logo
Above is our logo. It turns the abbreviation for 'African Language Technology' (AfLaT) into the musical abbreviation for 'A flat' (Ab). Through an inversion of the letter 'A', the designers managed to map the African continent. 'A' and 'b' further refer to the beginning of the (Latin) alphabet, without which there would be no language technology tout court.
