The 42nd Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL) will be held June 10-12, 2011 at the University of Maryland, College Park. The theme of this year’s conference is 'African Languages in Context.' The event includes over a hundred talks and posters on African languages and linguistics from various subdisciplines of linguistics and highlights plenary talks from the following invited speakers:

*Professor Enoch Aboh, University of Amsterdam
*Professor Vicki Carstens, University of Missouri
*Professor Samuel Gyasi Obeng, Indiana University
*Professor David Odden, Ohio State University

Student Registration $40.00 $60.00

There will be a banquet event with African food and entertainment (performances by Akoma Drummers) at the Holiday Inn-College Park on Saturday evening, June 11. Tickets may be purchased as part of on-line registration ($35 regular price / $25 students)
